Herschel “Guy” Beahm is a famous Twitch streamer and American internet celebrity. Known as Dr DisRespect,
he plays games like Apex Legends,
Fortnite
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,
and Escape from Tarkov.
On June 26th, his Twitch channel was banned, with many saying that it is permanent.
Twitch’s official statement on the ban has nothing to say, but this “As is our process, we take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has acted in violation of our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers regardless of status or prominence in the community”.
Ironic, considering Twitch’s susceptibility to female violations of conduct, which often go unnoticed (Alinity.)
His account has been suspended once before when IRL streaming at E3 (A massive event for the video game industry with developers to companies to pro players) in 2019. He went to the restroom, and his cameraman followed him in, violating privacy laws and Twitch’s privacy policy. He was also banned from the event.
Twitch reinstated his account fourteen days later. And with his past racism accusation against Asian people, he is no stranger to criticism.
Back to his most recent (and permanent) ban, the Doc himself made a statement the day after the ban, which is confusing enough, saying, “Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision… Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time. -Dr Disrespect”

Twitch has not notified me on the specific reason behind their decision... Firm handshakes to all for the support during this difficult time.
-Dr Disrespect
This raises more questions than answers due to the timing and nature of the statement. Some say it’s because he tried to get people to join another streaming platform, and others have more grim scenarios in mind. Either way, it’s odd for such a sudden ban on such a decorated person in the gaming world, with Streamer of the Year in 2017
and 2019
and Trending Gamer also in 2017.
The most interesting theory is that Twitch is just issuing a high-profile ban on someone pushing conspiracies like 5G towers and the Coronavirus (Beahm spoke about these often on stream) to intimidate others out of saying the same controversial things on their stream.
